Postdoctoral Fellow - Electronics Reliability

Summary of Job Duties:
The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research in electronics reliability model development using a combination of experimental, computational, and statistical methods. In addition, this position is expected to develop new research directions, prepare proposals to secure external funding for research and commercialization of research, prepare journal and conference papers, and mentor graduate and undergraduate researchers.

The is a one-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.


Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Statistics, or related fields from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: experimental design, electronics packaging and assembly techniques, failure analysis

Peer reviewed publications in areas listed above

Preferred Qualifications:

Meaningful experience and proficiency in:

Design, fabrication, and testing of microelectronic systems

Failure Analysis skill sets including: cross-sectioning, polishing, SEM & optical microscopy, metallurgical analysis (EBSD, EDS, XPS)

Reliability life modeling and life distribution statistics

Familiarity with thermal management of electronics

FEA skills using ANSYS Mechanical workbench or similar

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of using general office software and materials testing laboratory equipment

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Salary Information:
Commensurate with education and experience
